Facilities and amenities in Rayne vary considerably between those that one can enjoy alone or with the family, to those that are more of a service provided by others.   Behind the Village Hall is the playing field, open to all to stretch your legs or to join one of the sports clubs which use it.   Next to the Village Hall is a toddlers and infants playground, intended for young children while supervised by their parents, with a slide, roundabout, swings, see-saw, climbing frame etc.   To the far side of the Village Hall car park is the Skateboard Ramp for older children.   Cross Rayne Road into Shalford Road and there is The Old School Room which provides an alternative venue for smaller less formal occasions. The Flitch Way is a linear walk along the old railway track from Braintree to Bishops Stortford suitable for cycling too and for equestrians in some parts.   The old Station forms a focal point for information and history. The three public houses of the village, scout-hut and others are listed elsewhere under businesses or the organisation concerned.
