JULY MEETING
A group of Rayne Gardeners visited East Ruston 'Old Vicarage' garden in July stopping in Wroxham for lunch and, for some, a short wildlife observation trip on the River Bure.
Arriving at this magnificent 32 acre garden the group were soon spellbound by the variety and unusual nature of many of the plants. The gardens proximity to the sea, layout and extensive planting of windbreaks allows many exotics, which just should not grow outdoors in this part of the country, to flourish.
Although the weather forecast for the day was not encouraging the rain was perfectly timed to coincide with the completion of our tour round the garden, this allowed sufficient time for a tea break and wander round the plant sales before leaving. The opinion of our well travelled garden experts? .... Most impressive....The best garden I have ever seen.... Why go Cornwall to visit gardens with this on your doorstep.
SEPTEMBER MEETING
Apologies to any who tried to attend the visit to Kings Tree Nursery in September, unfortunately this was cancelled at the last minute due to unforeseen circumstances. It is hoped that this visit can be rebooked for the coming year.
