Girls can become Brownies any time after her seventh birthday and she usually moves on to Guides after her tenth birthday. Brownies are about having fun with friends, learning new skills, playing games, learning to work in small groups and helping each other and other people. All members of the Guiding movement make a promise when they get enrolled and they wear a uniform. Brownies can choose what they wear from a selection of casual clothes, including a sweatshirt, t-shirt, trousers culottes or shorts. There are two Brownie packs in Rayne. We meet at the Old School Rooms, Shalford Road, Rayne from 5.30 - 7.00 every Monday or Thursday during term time. Kate Kukiewicz is Brown Owl for Monday Brownies and Chris Hutton is Brown Owl for Thursday Brownies. Phone us to find out if we have a place for your daughter. Brownie fees are £1.50 per week. This money is used to pay for hire of the hall, craft and other materials, badges and the annual capitation each member of the Guiding movement pays each year, which includes insurance for the girls while they are taking part in Brownie activities. Brownies have a balanced and varied programme of activities that help them to mature and grow in self confidence. We work as a pack or individually on interest and other badges. Occasionally we take part in District or Divisional events such as a party, visit or campfire. Once a year the two packs join together to go on a Pack holiday together. This year we are off to Maldon. We will post our photos on the web -site when we return. | ||
