22 villagers travelled to Ramsgate to meet with friends from Verberie on Sunday 21st September 2003. This is a popular visit for people from Verberie with 44 people travelling to England. The morning allowed for Ramsgate to be explored whilst the committees met to discuss future programmes. Notably the committees agreed to a double exchange in 2004 to celebrate 10 years of Twinning with a visit to Verberie, 1st May - 3rd May and a return visit to Rayne 30th October - 1st November, contact Martyn 344736 for further information. Rayne has also been invited to Verberie to be involved in the 'Bouquet Provincial' to be held in 2006. This event involves villages in the region and was last held in Verberie 20 years ago. Following the morning visit and committee meeting all enjoyed an excellent meal at the Ramada Jarvis Hotel. The afternoon visit to Walmer Castle provided a fitting climax to the day. |
